Ok, sure, Kevin Cahill has the vision , skills and experience necessary to get this county going in the right direction but you have to admit, these comments are a little creepy. They read as though they were written by a teenage boy on steroids.

Very well done..almost too well done. Makes one wonder. Just kidding...I support Cahill 110% and I hope this blog and support from family and friends will get Cahill into this race. He is by far the best candidate.

Cahill for executive? We can only be so lucky. Please Kevin run.

Cahill was a Democrat 1 month after he was born. Hein was a Democrat 1 month AFTER the Democrats took over the Legislature. 'Nuff said.

Haven't we had enough of these so-called Democrats who become a Democrats to suit their own personal agendas?

I hope it is Kevin, but I will be looking at any other qualified Democrat that comes out.

I want a REAL DEMOCRAT running Ulster County, not a pseudo, opportunity driven Democrat.

Cahill you have my support. Thanks for all you do.

Cahill is my choice for Executive. I don't think people realize what an important position this is. Cahill is the most logical choice if you think about it.

If you are serious about this you should set up a campaign account to accept donations on Kevin's behalf. If he decides to run then the money can be transfered to his account. If he doesn't, then whatever funds are raised can go to replenish the county dems account.

I see you've caught on to this medium. These blogs are very effective tools. I'm pleased that you saw fit to support the democratic nominee even when your close friends were against him. I think this county needs a new leadership that can encompass all the counties democrats and not just a small, ever shrinking group of conservative throw-backs. Your choice to back Sennett was a strong move in the right direction. Many of the nop's are democrats that don't support the good 'ole boy network and someone who is intelligent enough to court them would dramatically increase the party, even at the expense of losing conservatives. I hope you think about Parete's replacement with that in mind. His replacement is long overdue and could make or break this county's party. I've always found you to be a man of intellect and progressive values. Keep being your own man and do what is right for our area, regardless of your local ties. We don't want to hear "banjo music" when referring to our county seat. What's with the psychedelic codes?

I hope the day comes soon when Kevin announces he is running. The people of Ulster county will see the difference between someone who thinks they know Government and someone who really does know Government.

Last year, when Hein proposed not ONE, but TWO, news taxes, Kevin stood up and said no. As I remember it, he stated that the County had not demonstrated that they had done enough to cut the budget and curtail spending. Fast forward to October 2007. The budget is proposed with a modest COL increase.

There is the difference. Kevin could have easily taken the lazy, short sighted, non thinking approach to solving the budget by going along with Hein. Kevin KNEW, that forcing the County to work within it means instead of adding more taxes to the already overburdened taxpayers was the answer.

That is the kind of thinking Ulster County needs. Progressive, practical and above all, intelligent.

Does anyone at all think Hein has a snowballs chance in Hell of beating Kevin in a primary election? I don't see how he can do it.

I say Hein and Kevin strike a deal to run as a team. Kevin as Exec and Hein as Comptroller, a job he is much more qualified for. The County Administrator in it's current form, is not much more then a budget preparer and overseer. The Legislature is the real boss and Mike admittedly, takes orders from them. His banking background, plus his minimal experience in Government make him well suited for that job, but not Exec.

Think about Mike, it may be a way to keep feeding your family.

Is there an address to send Kevin a contribution? I would like to encourage Kevin to run for County Executive with a financial contribution.
Thank - You

As soon as I have a chance to discuss this all with Assemblyman Cahill I will tell people who I am. I think he deserves to know first.
